The main learning objectives of the course are as follows:

  1. To know how to create a safe place for the child
  2. To be able to recognise child sexual abuse
  3. To understand the impact of sexual abuse
  4. To understand how we can help children who have been sexually abused
  5. To be aware of therapy and building resilience (including new material concerning the impact of trauma on children who have been sexually abused)

This course meets the Children’s Home Quality Standards as outlined in The Children’s Homes Regulations (England) 2015 and Children’s Homes Quality Standards 2015.
