Administering medication is often one of the most important roles of a carer, and it can be more complicated than you might first realise.
This course will break down the different aspects of medication, including how to safely administer it, store it, review the label, and record it. The course will also cover the common side effects to look out for and what to do if someone in your care has a severe reaction.

This course provides you with the theory to Safe Handling of Medication – practical training around how to administer medication must be provided to you by your employer to make sure you are competent.
This course meets the Children’s Home Quality Standards as outlined in The Children’s Homes Regulations (England) 2015 and Children’s Homes Quality Standards 2015.
