Reflective practice is, in its simplest form, thinking about or reflecting on what you do. It is closely linked to the concept of learning from experience, in that you think about what you did, and what happened, and decide from that what you would do differently next time. This course will introduce you to the concept of reflective practice and will help you to be a good listener, by understanding what that entails and the different types of listening. The learning objectives for this course are as follows:

  1. To understand reflective practice
  2. To know how to be a good listener
  3. To understand the different types of listening
  4. To be aware of various listening issues
  5. To understand active listening

This course meets the Children’s Home Quality Standards as outlined in The Children’s Homes Regulations (England) 2015 and Children’s Homes Quality Standards 2015.
