Trauma Children's Homes

This course is aimed at candidates who work with children who have suffered trauma. Candidates will gain a better understanding of trauma, its effects on the developing child, and its impact on the brain.

The main learning objectives of the course are as follows:

1. To describe the ways that trauma impacts the brain
2. To describe the factors that affect early brain development
3. To describe the impact of traumatic stress in childhood

This course meets the Children’s Home Quality Standards as outlined in The Children’s Homes Regulations (England) 2015 and Children’s Homes Quality Standards 2015.
